Account & Data Deletion Policy

This page explains how you can delete your ReaLife account and the personal data associated with it. ReaLife Sparks LLC keeps this page publicly accessible without signing in, so it can be linked from the app and from the app store listings.

1. Delete your account in the app

  • Open the ReaLife app and sign in.
  • Go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

2. Delete your account on the web

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion from this page at https://realife.co/delete-account by emailing us from the address registered to your account. The button below opens an email with the subject already filled in.

3. Verifying your identity

We verify that a request really comes from the account holder before deleting anything. The simplest way is to email us from the address registered to the account. If you email from a different address, we may ask you to confirm from the registered address or to confirm details we already hold, such as your city and the approximate date you signed up. We never ask for your password, and we do not need identity documents for a deletion request.

4. What gets deleted

  • Your profile and account information, including your name, email address, authentication credentials, age, city, interests and profile photo.
  • Content you created: your Sparks, your photos, and your messages and message requests, except where retention is required by law or where a safety investigation is open.
  • Your connections, joined Spark history, discovery preferences and verification submissions.
  • Usage, device and security data linked to your account, subject to the exceptions below.

5. What may be retained

We may retain limited information where the law requires it or for legitimate business purposes, such as:

  • Records needed to comply with legal, tax or accounting obligations, including store purchase records.
  • Information necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Safety records relating to reports and blocking, so that a removed account cannot evade a safety action.
  • Residual copies in routine encrypted backups, which age out on their normal cycle.
  • De-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you.

Retained data is kept only as long as necessary and is then deleted or de-identified.

6. Timeframe and permanence

After you confirm deletion, we remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except for the limited information described above. Your profile and Sparks disappear from the app immediately. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone: your account, content and connections cannot be restored, and signing up again creates a new account.

7. Before you delete: cancel any subscription

If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings before deleting your account. Deleting the app or your ReaLife account does not automatically cancel a store-managed subscription, and the store will keep billing you until you cancel there.
